Retailers
Polling suggests that nearly 75% of Ontarians are looking to buy locally manufactured goods over imported ones. That may not always be possible, but where it is possible, we need to provide consumers with that information.
Qualifying retailers are entities that sell Ontario Made goods directly to consumers through retail channels – whether it be through a physical storefront, an online website, or even a product catalogue! Our goal is to expand the awareness of what is Ontario Made to help consumers make informed decisions. Ontario’s retailers have a vital role to play in this effort.
Register hereRaising Awareness
Over the course of the next few months we will be taking the following steps to build this program:
- Manufacturers: Working to build a listing of what is Ontario Made, provide the digital Ontario Made logo, and encourage participation throughout the province
- Retailers: Raising awareness of the program and provide them the tools to leverage the logo and brand to showcase Ontario Made goods. We will promote and highlight those retailers who support Ontario Made to Ontarians. On a monthly basis, retailers will receive a list of registered Ontario Made products, allowing for knowledge to be expanded of locally manufactured products that can be featured in stores & potential connections to forge
- Consumers: Providing a searchable consumer database to help them find Ontario Made products, and launching a social media campaign to highlight and promote Ontario Made goods that will be echoed by the provincial government and affiliated groups
Get Involved
To help consumers make informed decisions, and increase sales of Ontario Made goods, we are asking Ontario’s retailers to:
- Use the logo in store, on websites, and through other promotional materials on goods that have been qualified as Ontario Made
- Where possible create in-store set-aside areas for Ontario Made goods
- Request a tailored product list or use this website to identify local manufacturers of Ontario Made goods and sell those products
